Double-depth shelves
Double-depth shelves are a type of shelf designed in parallel in double rows and require a scissor-type forklift to store goods. The warehouse utilization rate is relatively high, and the picking rate can reach 50%. In fact, the double-depth shelf is not much different from the beam shelf in structure, but it is different in layout design. The beam shelf is generally arranged back to back with two rows of shelves, and a forklift channel of about 3.5 meters needs to be reserved between the two rows of shelves. The double-depth shelf is a back-to-back arrangement of four rows of shelves, which saves half of the forklift channel and improves the utilization rate of warehouse space.
Can Double-depth Shelves Be Used In Cold Storage?
Double-depth shelves can be used in cold storage, but it is necessary to consider whether the cold storage has high requirements for the efficiency of goods storage and retrieval. Because the temperature of cold storage is low and the operating cost is high, if you want to achieve a higher level of storage capacity and access efficiency of goods, it is recommended to choose dense storage shelves, such as shuttle shelves.
In short, double-depth shelves perform well in terms of space utilization, carrying capacity and stability, and can also be used in cold storage, and the price is also more advantageous than dense storage shelves. If the requirements for the access efficiency of cold storage are not so high, or if the budget for purchasing shelves is not much for the time being, choosing double-depth shelves is also a good choice.
