Forklifts play a very important role in the logistics system of enterprises and are the main force in material handling equipment. But at the same time, they appear no less frequently than others in safety accidents. Therefore, the operating requirements for this main force are also extremely strict. These precautions for the use of forklifts must be followed at all times!
- Personnel requirements
1. Personnel driving forklifts must undergo professional training, pass the assessment of the safety production supervision department, obtain a special operation certificate, and drive with the consent of the company. Unlicensed operation is strictly prohibited.
2. Driving under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Smoking, eating, chatting, using mobile phones and talking on walkie-talkies are prohibited during driving.
- Vehicle inspection
1. Before and after the forklift operation, the appearance should be checked, and fuel, lubricating oil and cooling water should be added.
2. Check the starting, operation and braking safety performance.
3. Check whether the lights and horn signals are complete and effective.
4. During the operation of the forklift, the pressure and temperature should be checked to see if they are normal.
5. After the forklift is running, the external leakage should also be checked and the seals should be replaced in time.
- Preparation before starting
1. Before starting, observe the surroundings and make sure there are no obstacles that hinder driving safety. Then honk the horn before starting.
2. For vehicles with hydraulic (pneumatic) brakes, the brake hydraulic (pneumatic) gauge must reach safety before starting.
3. When the forklift starts to load, the driver should first confirm that the cargo is stable and reliable.
4. The start must be slow and smooth.
- Precautions during driving
1. When driving, the height of the bottom of the fork from the ground should be maintained at 300-400mm, and the mast must be tilted backward.
2. The fork must not be raised too high when driving. When entering and leaving the work site or driving, pay attention to whether there are obstacles in the air. When driving with cargo, the fork must not be raised too high to affect the stability of the forklift.
3. After unloading, the fork should be lowered to the normal driving position before driving.
4. When turning, if there are pedestrians or vehicles nearby, the driving signal should be issued first. It is forbidden to make sharp turns at high speed, which will cause the vehicle to lose lateral stability and overturn.
5. It is strictly forbidden to turn off the engine and slide when driving downhill. It is forbidden to brake suddenly when carrying goods unless there are special circumstances.
6. The forklift must comply with the traffic rules in the factory when it is running, and must maintain a certain safe distance from the vehicle in front.
7. When the forklift is running, the load must be in the lowest position that does not hinder driving, and the mast must be tilted back appropriately. Except for stacking or loading, the load must not be raised.
8. It is forbidden to turn on the ramp, and it should not be driven across the ramp.
9. The height of the load must not block the driver's line of sight. In special circumstances, when the items affect the forward line of sight, the vehicle must be driven at a low speed when reversing.
10. When the forklift is lifting, lifting or driving, it is forbidden for people to stand on the forks to hold items and balance.
11. The safe driving speed of the forklift in the factory area is 5 kilometers per hour, and it must be driven safely at a low speed when entering the production workshop area.
12. Repair and report problems in time when they are found, and never operate with problems or conceal them.
- Precautions during loading and unloading
1. When forking items, the distance between the two forks should be adjusted as needed to balance the load on the two forks and avoid skewing. One side of the item should be close to the blocking rack.
2. It is prohibited to operate with a single fork or use the fork to lift or pull objects. In special circumstances, safety warning signs must be set up to remind pedestrians around when pulling objects.
3. During the loading and unloading process of items, the forklift must be braked with the brake.
4. The speed should be slow and steady, and be careful not to crush the pads of items with the wheels to avoid the crushed objects from rising and injuring people.
5. It is prohibited to fork goods at high speed and to collide with hard objects with the fork head.
6. When the forklift is forking objects, it is prohibited for people to stand around the forks to avoid the collapse of goods and injuring people.
7. It is prohibited to overload and use forks to lift people to work at heights to avoid high-altitude falls.
8. Do not use inertia sliding, releasing, round or easy-to-roll objects to brake.
9. Do not use forks to pick up or flip pallets to unload goods.
10. When using forks to pick up goods, the forks should be inserted as deep as possible under the load, and be careful that the fork tips cannot touch other goods or objects. The minimum mast tilt should be used to stabilize the load to prevent the load from sliding backwards. When putting down the load, the mast can be tilted forward a small amount to facilitate the placement of the load and the withdrawal of the forks.
- The correct way to leave the forklift
1. It is forbidden to leave the forklift when the objects on the forks are suspended in the air. The goods must be unloaded or the fork frame must be lowered before leaving the forklift.
2. Pull the parking brake handle to the ground or press the handbrake switch.
3. The engine is turned off and the power is turned off. (Except for special circumstances, such as the driver does not leave the vehicle's sight and does not exceed 1 minute).
4. Remove the key.
- Precautions for parking
1. Before turning off the engine, the engine should be running at idle speed.
2. Turn off the engine after 2-3 minutes. After the engine is turned off and stopped, the brake handle should be tightened.
3. In low temperature seasons (below zero degrees), cooling water should be added, or antifreeze should be added.
4. When the temperature is below -15 degrees, the battery should be removed and moved indoors to avoid freezing and cracking. Turn the oil filter handle 1-2 turns, check whether the bolts and nuts are loose, and eliminate abnormal conditions in time.
5. Rinse and wipe the forklift clean, perform routine maintenance, and park it in the garage or designated location.
